As part of the dissemination activities of the European project Master\u2019s Degree in Gender-Based Violence (MDinGBV) \u2013\u00a0co-funded by the European Commission \u2013 representatives from the University of Ljubljana, prof. dr. Aleksandra Kanjuo Mr\u010dela<\/strong>\u00a0and Ms Vika Pu\u0161nik<\/strong>\u00a0visited the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana\u00a0and Universidad de los Andes\u00a0in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Professor Aleksandra Kanjuo Mr\u010dela presented the project\u2019s goals and ongoing work, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in advancing education and research on gender-based violence. The visit fostered dialogue on how academic institutions can strengthen equality, inclusion, and prevention strategies through interdisciplinary and cross-regional cooperation.<\/p>

At the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Professor Kanjuo Mr\u010dela and Ms Pu\u0161nik\u00a0 met with Camilo Bonilla<\/strong>\u00a0(International Cooperation Coordinator), Oriana Galofre<\/strong>\u00a0(International Mobility Officer), Erika Ospina<\/strong>\u00a0(Research Capacity Building Coordinator), and representatives from Javeriana\u2019s International Affairs Office. The meeting strengthened ties between the institutions and opened new avenues for collaboration in research, mobility, and joint academic initiatives.<\/p>

During the visit, a podcast recording\u00a0at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana led by Mariana Plazas J\u00e1come<\/strong>\u00a0provided a platform for an in-depth discussion on gender equality in academia. The conversation explored how Slovenia\u2019s social and economic transformations have shaped gender relations in higher education and compared these dynamics with the Latin American context, particularly Colombia.<\/p>

At the Universidad de los Andes Professor Kanjuo Mr\u010dela and Ms Vika Pu\u0161nik\u00a0 met with Johan\u00a0Sebasti\u00e1n\u00a0Cruz\u00a0Ram\u00edrez <\/strong>(Academic\u00a0Cooperation Officer), <\/strong>\u00a0Andr\u00e9s Mantilla<\/strong>\u00a0(Uniandes Science Diplomacy Officer) and \u00a0Prof. dr. Matthieu de Castelbajac<\/strong>\u00a0(professor and researcher at the Department of Sociology). After presentation of the project Master\u2019s Degree in Gender-Based Violence (MDinGBV)\u00a0by representatives of the University of Ljubljana, representatives of the Universidad de los Andes presented their institution, its history, current position and activities, \u00a0with a special focus on research in sociology. The visit opened possibilities for future collaboration, especially in research.<\/p>
